Investing in Italy

Regeneration of properties and communities

About us

Archangel Italy is an Italian, EU-recognised company that operates under Italian EU regulations. Archangel Italy, as per statute, linked to Archangel USA, focuses on projects which are of national or regional interest, where a top number of evaluators in the retail market consider any proposal to fit in the niche of high ROI, profitability, regeneration of the communities in which it is placed and a hand-in-glove synergy with the municipalities, regional government and central government.

It also focuses on grants and opportunities arising from the European Union's investment in developing regions in Europe through its cohesion funds, the Green Deal, and the Blue/Green economy chapters.  Bari and Puglia (analysis is broad and clear in this sector) are at the forefront of this financial push with such programmes as the PNRR (central government), the Pia and Mini-Pia. https://pugliasviluppo.eu/storage/news/application-pdf/2024/08/scheda-minipia-2021-2027.pdf

Our mission

Archangel focus on the craftsmanship embedded in old historical buildings or in areas of major cultural standing such as regions within UNESCO global sites. These structures, rich with history, can become vibrant parts of our communities again. By giving them new purposes, we not only preserve their legacy but also contribute to sustainable development and cultural enrichment.

Transforming old buildings into modern spaces sparks creativity and innovation. Whether it is turning a historic factory into trendy lofts or a once-abandoned church into a community center, the possibilities are endless.

Embracing these transformations allows us to honour our past while meeting the needs of the present, creating environments that inspire and connect us through eco-green concepts.

This transformation is put at the disposal of people who wish to invest with profit and/or live a transformative quality life in Italy, whether on the coast, in the green hinterland or in the mountains, cities, towns or in one of the historical borghi in Italy. Quality of life in Italy is a unique experience to savour - pace of life, the Mediterranean diet, and now, top-notch high speed internet connectivity for the demanding,  Italy has it all.

Current projects

La Filanda and Bovio are both within the historical Liberty quarters, which house the new National Research Centre, co-funded by the EU to attract EU and international researchers.  Bari has a rich Liberty heritage. The Liberty Style, known internationally as Art Nouveau, emerged between the late 1800s and early 1900s. It was a new architectural language for its time. It broke away from rigid past styles, introducing curves, floral motifs, natural elements, and refined decoration. Facades came alive with apotropaic masks, allegorical figures, sinuous wrought iron, and symbolic details, turning buildings into true artworks.

In 2019/2020, Bari was named Best Liberty City of the Year by the Italia Liberty association and by the EU, highlighting its architectural richness in these zones.

The approved project for La Filanda and the new Bovio project both flow in this direction architecturally, obviously updated to 2026+ and follow the Green Deal trend of the EU in building and construction (https://emag.archiexpo.com/transforming-architecture-through-the-european-green-deal/).

Both La Filanda and the Palazzo Bovio passed through the same structural, financial and market value analysis submitted to Archangel Italy by the above. La Filanda was chosen as we wanted a different take on the only specimen of Manchester Industrial Architecture in the South of Italy.
Its uniqueness makes it subject to the support which it has received directly from the Central Government in Rome through its Ministry of Culture. La Filanda is also under the professional  intermediary auspices of UNICREDIT, which approved Archangel’s EU position and stature to complete the work with its nominated team. UniCredit is a pan-European Commercial Bank with a unique service offering globally, but specifically strong in Italy, Germany, Austria, and Central and Eastern Europe.

Their purpose is to empower communities to progress, delivering the best-in-class for all stakeholders, unlocking the potential of their clients.
Archangel Italy, which is the executive legal arm of Archangel USA, has already set in motion all regional approvals in terms of engineering and architecture for the building to regain its former glory with a new community scope.
Real Estate brokers are vying to participate in its marketing post completion. In fact, they also participated in the drawing up of the estimates contained in the promotional figures. In all the (weekly) planning meetings at La Filanda, Unicredit RE Services is also present with its top officials in Bari, Puglia and the south of Italy, due to the nature of the project, which is clearly of regional, national and EU interest.

What does Archangel do?

It has an A to Z role.  It looks for the property, making a distinction between property to be lived in by the buyer or property to be put on the market after restoration, if needed.  It can be rented out short-term or long-term (Archangel provides the property management services through Pyxis, its sister cooperative of Mastergroup). The Archangel property portfolio is wide and comprises land, apartments, Trulli, Masseria’s, hotels, and resorts. Any investment  would start from around 300,000 Euros to 20 million Euros.  From apartments to 4/5 star hotels, any property will go through a professional  due diligence process. Some investors are looking for a high ROI - we can currently predict a minimum of 20% ROI after one year.  Normally, our ROI’s are much higher, going over the 40%. Many are boosted by the grant system present in Puglia (not loans).

What is the iter?

Client decides to either invest in a holiday home, a personal home, or to get a high ROI within a budget. You are presented with several opportunities - once a purchase is being considered, Archangel offers all the services from Notary to anything else which is required.  Archangel has also established a fantastic working relationship with the municipalities. Archangel will also look after the property if the new owner wants to put it on the market for short/long terms or for resale. All construction or regeneration works are carried out by Archangel which has the ATECO to operate as a construction company.  Archangel will also negotiate all terms on behalf of its clients. Video calls from any site can be made if investors or property seekers are interested, as well as specific, organised visits where interested people discover Puglia and are also encouraged to meet property owners and to visit potential acquisitions. If you have any interest, please do not hesitate to contact us.

What is the impact of investments in Puglia?

Between March 2024 and April 2025, the unique ZES brought over 709 million euros in investments to Puglia, with more than 1,600 approved projects. This made Puglia the third most attractive region in Italy for investments, capturing 18.05% of the national total. The average value of each project is around 443,000 euros, highlighting the importance of this initiative for local economic development.

What are the ZES?

Where are the investments concentrated?

The Special Economic Zones (ZES) are geographical areas created to attract investments through tax incentives and bureaucratic simplifications. The unique ZES, active since 2024, has unified regional ZES to form a single development area in the South, including Abruzzo, Basilicata, Calabria, Campania, Molise, Puglia, Sicily, and Sardinia.

More than a third of total investments are concentrated in Puglia. This demonstrates the vitality of the region and its potential not only in tourism but also in entrepreneurship, making it an attractive place for investors.
